- The rumored remake is outwardly known as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered
- A leak on Virtuos’ web site has revealed recent screenshots, Deluxe Version particulars, and extra
As among the finest Xbox RPGs of all time, it was fairly thrilling to listen to Jeff Grubb declare that Oblivion Remastered might properly launch as quickly as subsequent week. Nicely, it is trying extra possible than ever now that Virtuos seems to have up to date the backend of its web site. Web sleuths have been fast to tug a number of screenshots from the web site, in addition to discover particulars about Oblivion Remastered’s launch, which features a Deluxe Version.
The first notable thing spotted by players is that this isn’t a Remake as we first thought, and instead the upcoming game is called The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. While we don’t have a release date, it is launching on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC and is apparently a collaboration between Virtuos, Bethesda Dallas, and Bethesda Rockville.
Amusingly, a Deluxe Edition will be available at launch and comes packed with new items, including the legendary horse armour and exclusive weapons. While Xbox Game Pass isn’t mentioned, it’s likely that we’ll see this remaster drop into the library at launch.
The screenshots above look amazing too, filling the world with a level of detail we just couldn’t get in the original, so it’ll be a great entry point for younger players who maybe haven’t explored the classic title before.

I remember playing Oblivion when it first launched in 2006, way back when, and it blew my mind. The worldbuilding and stories sold me on the RPG genre at a young age, so I can’t wait to dive back in all these years later for another mooch around Tamriel.
Will you be diving into Oblivion Remastered regardless of whether it joins the library of Xbox Game Pass games or not? Drop a remark beneath and tell us!
